Dr. Vijay Vohra is an experienced anaesthetist based in Gurgaon, India. With a career spanning 35 years, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the field of Anesthesiology. Dr. Vohra has played a key role in the development of Liver Transplant Anaesthesia and Critical Care at two major centers in India, namely Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Medanta – The Medicity.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Vohra has also excelled in leadership roles. He served as the Vice-Chairperson, overseeing policy making and managing a large department of 40 anaesthetists at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for 5 years.
Dr. Vohra’s contributions extend beyond his own practice. He has provided training in Transplant Anaesthesia to visiting and fellow anaesthetists and intensivists from 26 centers within India and abroad over the past decade. His experience includes over 1500 liver transplants, making him one of the most experienced professionals in this field.
Dr. Vohra has been at the forefront of innovation in liver transplantation. He was the first in India to develop and introduce a hemodynamic and coagulation monitoring protocol for bloodless liver transplant. He has also led the anaesthesia team that participated in numerous groundbreaking liver transplant procedures in India.
