Dr. Vikas Jain is a highly experienced urologist and andrologist based in New Delhi, India. With over 9 years of practice, he is a renowned specialist in urology and renal transplant. Currently serving as a Senior Consultant at Fortis Hospital in Shalimar Bagh, Dr. Jain has established himself as a leading expert in his field.
One of Dr. Jain’s notable achievements is his extensive experience in renal transplants. He has successfully performed over 500 renal transplants at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS). In an impressive feat, he conducted four consecutive transplants within a span of 36 hours.
Dr. Jain has also made significant contributions to the field of urology in India. He has accomplished several groundbreaking procedures, including the retrieval of both kidneys from a 16-month-old brain-dead donor and their successful transplantation into an adult patient. This unique case is the first and only of its kind in India. Additionally, he has performed the first non-heart beating donor (NHBD) transplant in Delhi/NCR, retrieving both kidneys and successfully transplanting them into two patients.
Recognized for his exceptional academic record, Dr. Jain has received numerous awards and accolades. Notably, he was awarded the prestigious Prof CKP Menon Best Paper Award in 2010. He was also granted a scholarship by the European Association of Urology (EUSP), making him the first Indian to receive this honor. As part of the scholarship, he underwent training in deceased donor renal transplant in Spain.
