About Hospital
- Chung-Ang University Hospital, formerly known as Sungshim Hospital and located in Pil-dong, was established in 1968. It relocated to Heukseok-dong in 2004. Since its inception, the Hospital has evolved and consolidated significantly in various fields of expertise, gradually ushering in a new paradigm for the Korean medical sector by developing a new model for medical care, industrialising the biomedical field through convergence research, training global leaders, and establishing a centre of excellence.
- It’s a multispecialty hospital with 31 clinical divisions and five specialist centres.
- It completed the first functional 3D-printed sternum bone implants and replacements in Korea in 2019.
- The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service rated it first in the overall “Patient Evaluation of Medical Service Experience” survey (HIRAS).
- The Ministry of Justice listed the hospital as a “Excellent Medical Tourism Institution” for the second year in a row in 2016.
- In the 2015 Medical Korea Awards, it was named “Best International Healthcare Team.”
- In addition, the Hospital received “The Prime Minister’s Award” in 2015 at the Medical Korea Global Health Care Merit Awards Ceremony.
- Korea Health Industry Awards presented the same with the “Best Institution in the Medical Tourism Sector” and the “Grand Prize of Customer Satisfaction Excellence.”
- For the seventh year in a row, it was named the Best Emergency Medical Center.
- The hospital has a variety of cutting-edge devices, such as the Da Vinci Surgical Systems Si, Brillance iCT, PET-CT, LINAC, and others, to help it achieve its goal of contributing to “human well-being and happiness through innovative healthcare, science, and education.”
