Continuing its mission to make quality healthcare accessible beyond borders, Medsurge in collaboration with Asian Hospital, India successfully organized a medical camp in Merita Health, Bugolobi, Uganda on April 17th and 18th, 2025.
The camp featured Dr. Puneet Gupta, a distinguished Cancer Specialist, who brought his expertise to help cancer patients. Recognizing the rising impact of cancer in the African region, this initiative aimed to bridge the gap in cancer awareness, promoting early detection, and guiding patients for proper treatment planning.
More than 40 patients attended the camp, many of whom had never previously undergone a cancer screening or received a consultation from an oncology expert. One of our dedicated team members was present on-site to support patients and ensure a smooth, comfortable experience throughout the camp.
Oncology Expertise Delivered by Dr. Puneet Gupta
Dr. Puneet Gupta played a pivotal role in the success of the medical camp. He provided one-on-one consultations for various conditions such as breast, prostate, cervical, lung, and blood cancers and created individualized treatment plans. His key focus was raising awareness about the importance of early cancer detection and timely interventions.
Dr. Puneet’s contribution was not only clinical but educational and his compassionate communication with the patients helped many to break down fears and misconceptions about cancer. His presence truly enhances the quality and impact of the camp.
Dr. Puneet stated- “This is just the beginning. The success of this camp shows us what’s possible when expertise, purpose, and compassion come together. I believe we can build sustainable models of cancer care for communities that need it most—starting with efforts like this one in Uganda.”
United for a Healthier Future
Medusurge and Asian Hospital, supported by Dr. Puneet Gupta, collaborated closely to deliver improved medical care and support to patients during the camp. Patients who required advanced treatment were also offered guidance and support by Medusurge to facilitate their travel to India for further care.
This collaboration reflects a commitment to build a healthier and more equitable future, delivering not just treatment but hope and a path forward to those who need it most.
We aim to organize more such camps in the future to deliver high-quality medical care and ensure greater access to specialist healthcare services.
