Many couples in Ethiopia struggle with infertility and face challenges with conception due to limited access to specialized healthcare, lack of awareness about fertility issues, and untreated reproductive infections.
The social stigma around infertility leads to emotional stress which results in various health issues. Availability of fertility treatments in Ethiopia is limited, particularly in rural areas. Therefore, proper counseling and awareness is vital in the country.
To address this issue, Medsurge India, in association with Dr. Neha Gupta, a renowned Fertility Specialist from Mediworld Fertility Centre, India, conducted a medical consultation program in Grand Palace Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on April 22, 2025.
The primary objective of the program was to provide health education and medical guidance to individuals and couples struggling with reproductive challenges. It attracted more than 30 couples and many of whom were receiving fertility advice for the first time.

Her holistic approach helped the couples to understand their fertility journey in a better way and also empowered them to make informed decisions.

With plans for future initiatives, this event marks the beginning of a long-term partnership focused on improving fertility care and health outcomes in Ethiopia.
