Brief About Dr. Aparna Govil Bhasker
Dr. Aparna Govil Bhasker is a highly experienced Bariatric and Advanced Laparoscopic GI Surgeon based in Mumbai, India. With over 14 years of practice, she specializes in single-incision surgery and has one of the largest series of bariatric surgeries of this kind in the country. Dr. Bhasker was among the first surgeons in India to be recognized as a Center of Excellence (COE) surgeon by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) in 2011. She obtained her post-graduation in General Surgery from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sewagram, India in 2006, followed by a fellowship in “Advanced Laparoscopy and Bariatric Surgery” at the Center for Obesity and Digestive Surgery (CODS) in Mumbai.
Dr. Bhasker is actively involved in clinical research and completed a diploma on “principles and practice of clinical research” from Harvard Medical School in 2015. She holds the position of Chairperson for the Position Statement Committee of the Asia Pacific Chapter of the International Federation for Obesity and Metabolic Surgery (IFSO-APC) and is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences

Her special interests include Laparoscopic Sleeve Resection, Bariatric (Gastric Bypass) Surgery, Gall Bladder (Biliary) Stone Treatment, Gastroscopy, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Hernia Repair, Laparoscopic Appendicectomy, Laparoscopic Hiatus Hernia Repair, Laparoscopic Surgery, and D&C (Dilation and Curettage).
