Brief About Dr. Buddhadeb Chatterjee
Dr. Buddhadeb Chatterjee is a distinguished Orthopaedic and joint replacement surgeon based in Kolkata, India. With over 35 years of experience, he serves as the Knee Surgery Director at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital. Dr. Chatterjee received his MBBS degree from Madras University in 1986, followed by an MS from Pondicherry University in 1989. He furthered his education by obtaining FRCS in trauma and orthopaedic surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburg) in 1998.
Dr. Chatterjee specializes in Minimally Invasive Knee Correction, arthroscopy, joint replacement surgery, trauma surgery, and knee osteotomy. His exceptional skills have been recognized with a Gold Medal for securing the first rank in Pondicherry University. Dr. Chatterjee is renowned for his pioneering work in bicondylar knee replacement surgery and has contributed significantly to the field through various research papers published in reputable journals. As an esteemed academician, he conducts arthroplasty workshops and AO trauma courses in India and South East Asia.
Additionally, Dr. Chatterjee serves as the chief coordinator for the DNB Orthopaedics and Knee Replacement fellowship programme at the hospital.
