Brief About Dr. Burhan Ferhanoglu
Dr. Burhan Ferhanoğlu, a highly experienced hematologist, serves as the Head of the Department at the American Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. With over 40 years of expertise in the field, Dr. Ferhanoğlu is a distinguished member of various prestigious medical societies, including the Turkish Society of Hematology, International Society of Hematology, European Hematology Association, American Society of Hematology, and European Bone Marrow Transplantation Society. He obtained his medical degree from Istanbul University in 1978 and completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in hematology at the same institution in 1982 and 1988, respectively. Dr. Ferhanoğlu further expanded his knowledge by conducting research at the department of hematology and oncology at the University of Texas in 1990 and 1991, as well as at the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle in 1992. Throughout his career, Dr. Ferhanoğlu has received numerous accolades for his significant contributions to the field of medicine. His areas of special interest include bone marrow transplant, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Myeloma, and Myelodysplastic syndromes.
