Brief About Dr. Chintan Desai
Dr. Chintan Desai is an experienced Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon based in Mumbai, India. With 6 years of consulting experience, he has developed a special interest in Shoulder and Knee keyhole (Arthroscopy) and replacement surgeries. Dr. Desai is highly skilled in performing the latest techniques in shoulder and knee surgery, specializing in keyhole (arthroscopy) surgery and replacement surgery.
He has completed a Diploma in Football Medicine awarded by FIFA and has undergone fellowship training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at St. George Hospital in Sydney, Australia, under the guidance of Prof. George Murrell. During his training in Australia, he gained extensive experience in performing keyhole (arthroscopy) shoulder surgeries and shoulder replacement surgeries. Dr. Desai is currently involved in research projects at the Orthopaedic Research Institute in Sydney, Australia.
He is registered with various medical councils, including the Maharashtra Medical Council, the Gujarat Medical Council, the Medical Council of India, the Medical Board of Australia, and the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. Additionally, he has completed a fellowship in shoulder surgery at Seoul National University, Bundang Hospital in Seoul, South Korea, under the mentorship of Prof. Joo Han Oh.
Dr. Desai completed his postgraduate training in Orthopaedic Surgery from B. J. Medical College and Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and his thesis on “Study of robot-assisted total knee replacement” was accepted by Gujarat University. His special interests include Shoulder Arthroscopy, Shoulder Replacement Surgery (Anatomical and Reverse), and Shoulder Trauma.
