Dr. D Shantharam is an esteemed Endocrinologist with over 20 years of experience. He is a Senior Consultant at Apollo Hospitals, located on Greams Road in Chennai, India. Dr. Shantharam specializes in Diabetology and Diabetes Management, offering comprehensive treatment for various conditions such as Diabetes Mellitus, Insulin Treatment, Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, and Diabetes Complications. Additionally, he provides valuable Diabetes Diet Counselling to his patients.
Dr. Shantharam’s contributions to the medical field are highly recognized. He served as the 8th Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and has received prestigious awards including the Best Teacher Award in 2011 from Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and the Best Doctor Award in 2011 from Govt. General Hospital and Madras Medical College Chennai. He is an active member of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and holds positions as Joint Secretary for the Diabetes Association of India (Southern Chapter) and Treasurer for the Diabetes Alumni Association.
