Brief About Dr. Deepak S Malhotra
Dr. Deepak S Malhotra is a highly experienced Neurosurgeon based in Gandhinagar, India. With over 15 years of expertise, he specializes in performing surgeries for advanced neurological conditions.
Dr. Malhotra is a member of the All Indian Surgeon’s Association and the Urological Society of India. He completed his graduation from Gujarat University in 1999, followed by MS in 2001 and M.Ch in 2005. He has received various certifications and fellowships, including an ECFMG certification and Fellowship in Uro-gynecology and Neuro-urology from Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New York.
Dr. Malhotra has achieved remarkable milestones in his career, being the first and only neurosurgeon in Gujarat to perform complex bypass surgeries for Moyamoya disease. He has also successfully conducted endoscopic removal of third ventricular tumor (colloid cyst) and CP angle epidermoids. Dr. Malhotra introduced minimally invasive neurosurgeries in the state and has performed numerous cases of endoscopic third ventriculostomy. He is also known for his expertise in performing endoscopic assisted Microvascular decompression for Trigeminal neuralgias and chairi malformation.
In 2006, he pioneered posterior fixation with custom-made titanium screw & rod, when no Indian-made implants were available. Dr. Malhotra holds a significant position as an Assistant Professor in a committee of distinguished neurosurgeons, working towards establishing AIIMS-like centers in India under the Pradhan Mantri Swastha Seva Yojna scheme. He was selected by the Hon’ble Health Minister to prepare a pilot project for establishing a dedicated neuroscience center, for which the plan has been submitted.
Dr. Malhotra is renowned for his expertise in performing laminectomy and providing treatment for various neurological conditions, including foot drop, carotid body tumor embolization, petrosal sinus sampling, head & neck tumor embolization, spinal and cerebral tumor embolization, and brain arter.
