Brief About Dr. Deepak Shankar Ray
Dr Deepak Shankar Ray brings a wealth of experience in Nephrology to his current position as Senior Consultant and Chief of Renal Transplant at the Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences. With over 44 years of expertise, he specializes in Renal Transplant (Recipient and Donor) as well as Catheterization – CAPD. Dr Ray has an impressive track record, having performed over 2,000 renal transplants, including swaps and ABO-incompatible transplants, and conducting approximately 4,600 haemodialyses per month.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Ray has made significant contributions to the field by establishing dialysis units in remote areas of Eastern Africa through collaborations with non-governmental organizations. He completed his superspecialization (DM Nephrology) from AIIMS in 1980 and has published over 40 papers in national and international forums.
