Brief About Dr. Dharma Rakshak Ayapati
Dr. Dharma Rakshak Ayapati is a highly skilled Cardiac Surgeon with over 30 years of experience in the field. He is currently affiliated with Apollo Hospital in Secunderabad, India. Dr. Ayapati is a member of several professional organizations, including the Paediatric Cardiac Society of India, the Association of Gastro Intestinal Endo Surgerons of India, the All India Biotech Association – Southern Chapter, and the Asian Transplant Society. He is also a fellow and life member of the Indian Association of Cardo Thoracic Surgeons and the Association of Surgeons of India.
Dr. Ayapati completed his MBBS from Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati in 1979. He then pursued his MS from Madras University, Chennai in 1982, followed by M.Ch from Mangalore University, Karnataka, India in 1985. Throughout his career, Dr. Ayapati has gained extensive expertise in various cardiac surgical procedures, including bypass surgery, aortic valve surgery, aorta surgery, heart valve/infarct exclusion surgery, thoracic surgery, valve repair and replacement surgery, keyhole angioplasty, arrhythmia/heart failure/ aortic and endovascular/minimally-invasive cardiac surgery, bypass and coronary artery surgery.
Dr. Ayapati has achieved several notable milestones in his career. In 1995, he successfully performed the first homograft repair with Truncus Arteriosus in Andhra Pradesh (AP). A year later, he accomplished the first successful complete AV canal repair in former AP and a transposition of arteries repair. He has also held prestigious positions such as Professor, Dean, and Director/Vice-Chancellor at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences.
Dr. Ayapati’s special interests include bypass surgery, ECMO, cardioversion, aortic valve surgery, aorta surgery, aldosterone inhibitors, blood vessel dilators, left ventricular assist device (LVAD), heart valve surgery, infarct exclusion surgery, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, minimally invasive coronary artery surgery, thoracic surgery, and keyhole angioplasty. His dedication to his field and exceptional skills have earned him awards and recognition, including being featured in the Madison Who’s Who in 2010.
