Brief About Dr. Gomathy Narashimhan
Dr. Gomathy Narashimhan is a Liver Transplant Surgeon based in Chennai, India with 10 years of experience. She currently serves as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Kidney Transplant at Gleneagles Global Hospital in Chennai.
Dr. Narashimhan has been involved in managing approximately 450 Liver transplant and 750 Kidney transplant patients. She is well-versed in pre-op evaluation, ICU care, and post-op management of multi-organ transplant patients. In 2009, she was recognized as a New Key Opinion Leader (nKOL) from India by The Transplantation Society. Her interests lie in Renal Sparing Immunosuppression and Portal and Hepatic Hemodynamics in Liver Transplantation.
Dr. Narashimhan is a member of prestigious organizations such as the Association of Surgeons of India, American Society of Transplant Surgeons, Indian Society of Organ Transplantation, and The Transplantation Society. She also serves as a Liver Sub-Committee member for the Tamil Nadu Government’s Cadaver Transplant Program.
Dr. Narashimhan has received several awards, including the Young Investigator Award from the Association of Surgeons of India in 2000 and the Young Researcher Award from the Asian Society of Transplantation. She completed a Transplant Surgery Fellowship at Baylor University, USA, and received training in Living donor Liver transplant from Kumamoto and Kyoto University, Japan. Dr. Narashimhan has published 13 international publications in Transplantation Journals, showcasing her expertise in the field.
