Brief About Dr. Imran Shaikh
Dr. Imran Shaikh is a highly experienced Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgeon based in Mumbai, India. With over 15 years of practice, he has gained expertise in performing various surgical procedures including minimal access, advanced laparoscopic, and open abdominal surgeries. Dr. Shaikh has achieved remarkable milestones in his career, such as successfully removing a 1.7 kg Gall Bladder Cyst from a patient, setting a world record. He has been recognized for his contributions to the field, receiving Travel Bursaries at IASGCON in 2010 and 2012, as well as NATCON in 2010.
In addition, he has been invited as a faculty member for the Pancreatic Session at IASG, Pune in 2015. Dr. Shaikh is affiliated with esteemed associations like the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI), the Association of Medical Consultants of Mumbai (AMC), and the Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology (IASG). His dedication to expanding his knowledge is evident through his involvement in research and publications.
Dr. Shaikh completed his MBBS from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in 1998, followed by a DNB in General Surgery at Mumbai Port Trust Hospital in 2005. He further pursued a DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology (GI, HPB Surgery, GI Cancer, and Liver Transplant) from Fortis Hospital, Mumbai in 2008. Additionally, he obtained fellowships in HPB Surgery and Liver Transplant from Freeman Institute, UK, HPB Surgeries and GI Cancer from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute, Lucknow, and Advanced Laparoscopic and Minimal Access Surgeries (FMAS) from Coimbatore.
Dr. Shaikh’s areas of special interest include Gastrointestinal Cancer Surgery, Hepato Pancreato Biliary Surgery, Liver Transplant, Surgical Gastroenterology, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, and Minimal Access Surgery.
