Brief About Dr. Kunal Sarkar
Dr. Kunal Sarkar is a highly skilled and renowned Cardiac Surgeon based in Kolkata, India. With over 25 years of experience, he has successfully performed numerous cardiac surgeries. Dr. Sarkar is a distinguished member of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) and the Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS). Notably, he holds the record for performing one of the largest coronary bypass surgeries worldwide, with a staggering 17,000 cases.
Dr. Sarkar obtained his medical degree from the prestigious Medical College, Calcutta, and further honed his skills in cardiothoracic surgery at the Cardiothoracic Centre Liverpool, St Mary’s Hospital, UK. He also completed a Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
In 2015, Dr. Sarkar co-founded the Kolkata Heart Foundation, which focuses on promoting the “Wellness Concept” and raising awareness about the prevention and management of cardiac ailments.
