Dr. N. K. Venkataramana is a highly esteemed neurosurgeon with over 30 years of experience in the field of Neurosurgery in India. He is renowned for his expertise and has successfully performed more than 15,000 neurosurgeries. Dr. Venkataramana completed his MBBS and Mch from SVMC, Tirupati, and further pursued a Fellowship in Micro Neurosurgery from NIMHANS and a Fellowship in Endoscopy-Mainz from Germany. He played a pivotal role in establishing the Advanced Neuroscience Institute at BGS Global Hospitals and founded the Manipal Institute for Neurological Disorders (MIND) at Manipal Hospital in Bangalore. Dr. Venkataramana is also credited with introducing the country’s first mobile emergency trauma care service, Sanjeevani. He was the first in Asia to introduce Micro dialysis for the brain and pioneered various groundbreaking procedures in Karnataka, such as CT Guided stereotactic Surgery, Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery for Parkinson’s disease, and Neuroendoscopic Surgery. Dr. Venkataramana has received numerous prestigious awards and citations for his contributions to the field of neurosurgery. He has held significant positions, including President of the Indian Society for Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery and Vice President of the Indian Society for Paediatric Neurosurgery.
