Brief About Dr. Nikhil Baljekar
Dr. Nikhil Baljekar is a highly experienced General Surgeon based in Mumbai, India. With over 34 years of practice in the field of general surgery, he has established himself as a trusted consultant. Dr. Baljekar is affiliated with Apollo Spectra Hospital in Mumbai. Dr. Baljekar’s qualifications include an MBBS degree from Grant Medical College, Byculla, Mumbai in 1981. He further pursued his studies at the College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1981 and obtained an MS degree from Grant Medical College in 1985. He also holds a fellowship from the College of Physicians & Surgeons (FCPS) and a diploma in urology from Sackler University, which he completed in 1988. In 2007, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Throughout his career, Dr. Baljekar has undergone various training programs to enhance his expertise in pediatric, orthopedic, and cancer surgeries in Mumbai between 1983-87. He also completed basic urology training in Belgaum from 1988-93. Additionally, he gained valuable experience working at the Harrogate District Hospital in the U.K. for a brief period. Dr. Baljekar’s areas of specialization include laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic/open hernia, appendicetomy, cholecystectomy, breast surgery, thyroid surgery, hemorrhoids, fistula, fissure surgery, and abscess drainage. He has a particular interest in general surgery, hernia surgery, proctology, and diabetic foot. Furthermore, he has contributed to leading medical journals with his research papers.
