Brief About Dr. Prafulla Kerkar
Dr. Prafulla Kerkar is a highly experienced Interventional Cardiologist with over 31 years of practice. He holds prestigious positions such as being a life member of the Cardiological Society of India, the Scientific Secretary of the Cardiological Society of India, and the President of the Mumbai Branch of the Cardiological Society of India. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Cardiological Society of India.
Dr. Kerkar specializes in various interventions including coronary, valvular, and pediatric interventions. He has received training from renowned institutions such as the Red Cross Hospital and Frankfurt Heart Centre in Germany, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the USA, and the Cardiac Arrhythmia Research Laboratory at the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
Dr. Kerkar has presented papers at numerous international and national conferences and has published extensively in national and international peer-reviewed journals. With expertise in both adult and pediatric interventions, he has successfully performed over 5000 catheterization procedures, including coronary angioplasty, valvuloplasty, and closure of congenital heart defects.
Dr. Kerkar’s special interests also include cardiac catheterization, mitral/heart valve replacement, vascular surgery, invasive cardiac procedures, cardiac pacing, and pediatric cardiac surgery. He is well-versed in various aortic surgeries and has extensive experience in intensive care and ventilator management.
