Dr. R. Ravi is a highly regarded Medical Gastroenterologist based in Chennai, India. With an impressive career spanning over 35 years, he has gained extensive experience in the field. Throughout his professional journey, Dr. Ravi has successfully performed over 7000 ERCPs, 20000 Upper GI Endoscopies, and 5000 Lower GI Endoscopies. He specializes in treating advanced and complex GI conditions such as GI Bleeding, Obstructive Jaundice, and Pancreatic Disorders.
Dr. Ravi is recognized as a pioneer in performing Endoscopic Choledochoduodenostomy in Tamil Nadu and is the second doctor in India to carry out SEMS for Pseudo Cyst of Pancreas. In 2004, he was honored with the “best contributor for the hospital’s growth” award by Apollo Hospital, Madurai.
Dr. Ravi is passionate about teaching and serves as a national and international faculty for advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy courses. He is a member of the Tamil Nadu Medical Council and a Life Member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology. Dr. Ravi’s special interests include Early Pancreatic Necrosectomy, Percutaneous Endoscopic Necrosectomy, SEMS for Pseudo Cyst of Pancreas, and Endoscopic Choledochoduodenostomy.
