Brief About Dr. Raj Kanna
Dr. Raj Kanna, an Orthopedic & Joint Replacement Surgeon with over 17 years of experience, has successfully performed more than 1,000 arthroscopy and knee replacement surgeries utilizing computer-assisted techniques. Dr. Kanna is a distinguished member of the Indian Medical Association, Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association, Indian Orthopaedic Association, and the Indian Society of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
He has achieved several milestones in his career, including being the first in South India to conduct computer-assisted revision knee replacement surgery, rotating platform knee replacement surgery, knee replacement with gap balancing technique, and writing a comprehensive review paper on partial knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Kanna obtained his MBBS from Madurai Medical College in 2000, MS from Kasturba Medical College in 2005, and holds a DNB qualification. He pursued Fellowships in Joint Replacement and Southampton, UK. Dr. Kanna specializes in total hip replacement, knee osteotomy, minimally invasive knee replacement surgery, keyhole surgery, disc surgery, bunion surgery, and bone grafts. His expertise extends to treating knee pain, fractures, arthritis, back pain, joint dislocation, and hip/knee/ankle injuries.
He has authored approximately 12 scientific articles for renowned orthopedic journals, including the Journal of Arthroplasty. Dr. Kanna’s notable contributions include a comprehensive review on Partial Knee Replacement published in Octa Orthopaedica Belgica and co-authoring a chapter on “Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty” in the book “Textbook of Orthopaedics and Trauma” by the Indian Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Kanna’s special interests lie in Computer Assisted Joint Replacement, Keyhole Surgery, Arthritis Management, Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment, Non-Surgical Management of Arthritis, PRP Injection, Stem Cell Therapy, Ligament Reconstruction, and Sports Injuries.
