Brief About Dr. Raja Dhar
Dr. Raja Dhar, a Pulmonologist from Kolkata, India, has recently taken on the role of Director and Head of the Department of Pulmonology at The Calcutta Medical Research Institute. With over 27 years of experience in the field, Dr. Dhar specializes in Pulmonology, Critical Medical Management, and Interventional Pulmonology.
He is well-versed in various aspects of Respiratory Medicine, including airways disease, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, lung transplant, lung cancer, sleep medicine, lung infections (including TB), and respiratory emergencies. Dr. Dhar’s expertise also extends to Interventional Pulmonology, where he is skilled in techniques such as electrocautery, APC, cryotherapy, stent placements, and Medical Thoracoscopy.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Dhar is dedicated to teaching, research, and academia, with several publications to his name. His special interests include rare stroke orphan lung diseases, interstitial lung disease, asthma and allergy, COPD, sleep medicine, advanced lung function services, and interventional and diagnostic pulmonology.
