Dr. Rajesh T R, a renowned Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon based in Bangalore, India, has over 26 years of experience in the field. He has successfully completed more than 5,000 cardiac operations, showcasing his expertise in a wide range of surgeries including beating heart and on-pump CABG, valve repairs and replacements, aortic root surgeries, and procedures for congenital heart diseases.
Dr. Rajesh T R holds the distinction of being the first surgeon in Asia to implant the latest 3rd generation Artificial Heart in a patient with terminal heart failure. He was recognized for his excellence in cardiac surgery with a special award presented by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 2010. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in the first successful Heart Transplant in Karnataka in 2008.
Dr. Rajesh T R completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Bellary, in 1997, followed by post-graduation in General Surgery from Government Medical College, Mysore, where he received the Gold Medal from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in 2001. He also obtained a DNB degree in General Surgery from the National Board of Examination, New Delhi, in 2002. Furthering his training, he pursued Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgery at Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai, and specialized in Heart Transplantation and Ventricular Assist Devices at the University of Minnesota, USA.
Dr. Rajesh T R is an active member of prestigious organizations like the Indian Association Of Cardiovascular And Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS), with special interests in Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Coronary Angioplasty/Bypass Surgery, Heart Valve Replacement, Peripheral Vascular Disease, and other cardiac procedures.
