Dr. Rakesh Rai is one of Mumbai’s most well-known transplant surgeons. He has over 16 years of experience and has worked with some of the world’s most prominent transplant centres. Dr. Rai earned his MBBS and MS (General Surgery) degrees from Patna University and the University of Mumbai, respectively. Following that, he completed his MD in the United Kingdom.

He got his training in HPB surgery and abdominal organ transplantation at some of the UK’s most prestigious institutions, including the Royal Free Hospital in London, the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Dr. Rai completed an authorised fellowship at Methodist Transplant Institute in Memphis as well as his American Society of Transplant Surgeon (ASTS) certification. In addition, he has performed living donor liver transplants at Asan Medical Center and Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea.
