After completing his Basic Orthopaedic training in India Prof. Sen was awarded additional training in Germany as well as the USA.
He has more than 28 years of expertise working in Orthopaedic surgery, with 20 years as a Faculty member at PGIMER. He was promoted to Professor within PGIMER’s Department Of Orthopaedics, PGIMER in the year the year 2008. The Dr. Sen has extensive surgical expertise in the treatment of pelvic-acetabular injuries as well as knee and hip surgical joint replacement. He is also the pioneer in the use of stem cells in treatment for AVN hip joint. He has extensive expertise in complicated joints, joint reconstructions and revision hips and knee arthroplasty as well as complex trauma. He has also been a Visiting Professor in Germany as well as the USA as well as being invited as a guest speakers across more than 25 nations. He has received the top research prize of SAARC countries, as well as from the Indian Orthopaedic Association(IOA). He was chairperson for IOA’s Research Foundation as well as Vice President of the IOA. He is also the Vice President of IOA.
