Brief About Dr. Riya Balilkar
Dr. Riya Balilkar is a highly experienced Stem Cell Specialist based in Kolkata, India. With over 10 years of expertise in stem cell transplants and the treatment of various blood disorders, she is considered a leading expert in her field.
Dr. Balilkar is a professional life member of prestigious medical associations such as the Indian Medical Association, Indian Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (ISHBT), Kolkata, and the Hematology Alumni Association and Academy of Medical Sciences (AMS). She has been recognized for her outstanding academic achievements, receiving a gold medal for the highest score in MBBS and being acknowledged as the best graduate.
Dr. Balilkar completed her MBBS from Goa Medical College, Bambolim in 2009, followed by MD from Seth Gordhandas Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai in 2013. She further pursued her DM from the Institute of Heamatology and Transfusion Medicine, Medical College, Kolkata in 2016 and DNB from CMC, Vellore in 2016. As an expert bone marrow transplant specialist, Dr. Balilkar offers a range of treatments including BMT testing (aspiration/biopsy) and reporting, chemotherapy for blood cancers, intrathecal therapy, and the management of conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, thalassemia, splenomegaly, sickle cell anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, aplastic anemia/pancytopenia, hemophilia, bleeding/clotting disorders, platelet disorders, and low hemoglobin.
