Brief About Dr. Shailesh Raina
Dr. Shailesh Raina, an Endourologist and Urologist Consultant based in Mumbai, India, boasts over 33 years of experience in the field. He is a distinguished member of the Indian Medical Association. Dr. Raina completed his MBBS from the Armed Forces Medical College, University of Pune in 1975, followed by his MS in 1981. He furthered his education by pursuing D.Urology at the Institute of Urology, University of London in 1987.
Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Raina has successfully managed over 12,000 cases. He holds the distinction of being the first individual in India to utilize the HPS 120 Watts Laser for Prostate treatment. Additionally, he was the pioneer in using the 180 green light laser for BPH. Dr. Raina played a pivotal role in establishing the Stone clinic at JHRC in 1989, introducing innovative techniques such as lithotripsy and upper tract endourology (PCNL & URS).
He is highly skilled in minimally invasive procedures for stone diseases. Dr. Raina organized the inaugural workshop on neuropathic bladder in India in 2006 and has been performing LDDM (Latissimus Dorsi Dynamic Myoplasty for Atonic Bladder) since then. Renowned for his expertise in treating various urological conditions, including stress urinary incontinence, renal transplant, and male erectile dysfunction, Dr. Raina also specializes in endourology and laser procedures for stones and prostate. He is proficient in MIS for urology and Transurethral Incision of The Prostate (TUIP).
Dr. Raina has served as a faculty member for the Diplomat National Board in Urology and has delivered lectures and workshops at prestigious institutions such as the Mumbai Urological Society, the USI, Mumbai Obstetric and Gynecology Society, Asian Congress of Urology, Bangladesh Association of Urological Surgeons, S.I.U (Indian Section), and ASEAN. His contributions to leading journals have further solidified his reputation as an accomplished urologist.
