With a career spanning over 27 years, he specializes in Luminal Gastroenterology, Liver diseases, and Liver transplantation. Dr. Maitra completed his MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College in 1993, followed by an MD in General Medicine from the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (IPGMER, SSKM Hospital) in Kolkata in 1999. He also holds an MRCP (UK) from the Royal Colleges of Physicians in London, UK in 2003. Dr. Maitra is a member of prestigious organizations such as the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), and the British Medical Association, UK.
