Dr. Sukalyan Purkayastha, an esteemed Endovascular Surgeon and Neuro Intervention Radiologist, serves as the Head of Department at the Institute of Neurosciences in Kolkata, India. With an impressive 23 years of experience, Dr. Purkayastha is recognized as a pioneer in the field of Neurointervention in Eastern India. Since 2006, he has successfully performed over 2500 neuro-interventional and endovascular surgeries in Kolkata.
His expertise lies in the endovascular treatment of Stroke, including coiling of cerebral aneurysms, AVM embolization, spinal vascular malformation treatment, brain fistulae embolization, and carotid and intracranial stenting.
Additionally, Dr. Purkayastha specializes in vertebroplasty treatment for spinal fractures and peripheral vascular interventional procedures such as uterine fibroid embolization, leg and kidney artery angioplasty, and stenting.
