Brief About Dr. Swaminathan Sambandam
Dr. Swaminathan Sambandam is a highly esteemed Liver Transplant Surgeon based in Chennai, India. With an impressive track record of over two decades in the field, he has successfully conducted more than 750 liver transplants and 1000 kidney transplant surgeries.
Dr. Sambandam specializes in a wide range of transplant procedures, including kidney, liver, and pancreatic transplants, as well as Small Bowel and Multi Visceral Transplants for Intestinal Failure. Additionally, he is skilled in Advanced Lap and Robotic HPB Surgeries. Throughout his career, he has performed numerous Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomies and over 2000 complex HPB surgeries, including minimal access and Robotic HPB surgeries.
Dr. Sambandam obtained his MBBS degree from Chengalpattu Medical College Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai, in 1999. He further pursued an MS in General Surgery from Madras Medical College Hospital Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai, in 2003. In 2005, he completed an MRCS fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, UK, followed by an ASTS Transplant Fellowship from the University of Iowa Hospital USA in 2008.
