Brief About Dr. Swati Garekar
Dr. Swati Garekar is a highly experienced Pediatric Cardiologist based in Mumbai, India. With over 31 years of practice, she has developed expertise in various areas including echocardiography, fetal echocardiography, and 3D printing of complex heart defects and heart failure. Her specialization also extends to cardiomyopathies, heart transplants, and other cardiac conditions.
Dr. Garekar completed her MBBS from King Edward Memorial Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in 1996. She further pursued her Diplomate from the American Board of Cardiology in 2005. To enhance her skills, she completed her residency in Pediatrics and a Pediatric Cardiology fellowship from the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, Michigan, US. Additionally, she underwent specialized training in 3D echocardiography at Evelina Children’s Hospital in London, UK in 2011. She is certified by the American Board in Pediatric Cardiology from the Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
Dr. Garekar’s special interests lie in the treatment of cerebral palsy, ASD/VSD device closure, arrhythmia management, pacemaker implantation, carotid artery disease, carotid angioplasty and stenting, patent ductus arteriosus device closure, non-invasive cardiology, acute aortic dissection, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, mitral/heart valve replacement, coronary angiogram, and cardiac ablation.
