He obtained his MBBS degree from Thanjavur Medical College, Thanjavur, MD in General Medicine from Madras Medical College, Chennai, DNB in Nephrology from National Board of Examination, New Delhi, and DM in Nephrology from Madras Medical College, Chennai.
