Dr. V. Narendra Kumar serves as a Senior Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist, possessing extensive expertise in Interventional Cardiology, Heart Failure, and Transplant Cardiology. He earned his MBBS degree from the esteemed Chengalpattu Medical College and subsequently obtained his MD from Thanjavur Medical College. His advanced training culminated in a DM in Cardiology from the prestigious Madras Medical College.
Dr. Kumar has successfully conducted over 8,000 coronary angiograms, more than 700 angioplasties, and upwards of 300 primary angioplasties for patients experiencing acute heart attacks. His exceptional skills encompass Pacemaker Implantation, Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT), angioplasty for chronic total occlusions, bifurcation percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), peripheral angioplasty, and renal artery stenting.
He has demonstrated significant proficiency in both pre-and post-heart transplant evaluations, LVAD management, and endomyocardial biopsy. His areas of special interest include primary PCI, the management of heart failure patients, and the use of imaging techniques such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) in complex PCI situations, as well as heart transplant evaluation and management.
