Brief About Dr. V T Shah
Dr. V T Shah is a highly experienced Interventional Cardiologist based in Mumbai, India. With over 40 years of experience in the field, he is considered one of the most knowledgeable professionals in his specialty. Dr. Shah is affiliated with S. L. Raheja Hospital in Mumbai.
In addition to his extensive experience, Dr. Shah is a member of various prestigious organizations, including the Cardiological Society of India, Association of Physicians of India, National Society for Prevention of Heart Disease & Rehabilitation, ‘D’ Ward Medical Association, Mahim Dharavi Medical Association, Chembur Indian Medical Association, Dadar Medicos Brotherhood, and many more. He has held significant positions such as Secretary of IMA Academy of Medical Speciality, Mumbai (2000-2006), Chairman of IMA Academy of Medical Speciality, Mumbai (2006-2007), President of National Society of Prevention of Heart Diseases (2008-2010), and Executive Committee Member of Cardiological Society of India (2005-2007).
Dr. Shah has achieved several Fellowships in Interventional Cardiology and Intra-Vascular Ultrasound and IC Doppler. He is recognized as a Fellow of the Cardiological Society of India (FCSI), Kolkata, Fellow of the College of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, Singapore, and Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), USA. Notably, he was the first cardiologist in the world to present a study on ‘stent’ like ‘PTCA’ in Restenosis lesions at the March 97, American College of Cardiology meeting.
Apart from his clinical work, Dr. Shah actively participates in community outreach programs. He has organized numerous Healthy Heart camps, exhibitions, and regularly delivers awareness lectures to the public. He also contributes to the medical community by conducting lectures and updates in Cardiology at various forums, including CME and the Annual Conference of General Physicians & General Practitioners.
Dr. Shah’s research work is highly regarded, with many of his articles and papers published in peer-reviewed journals in India and abroad. His areas of special interest include high-risk IABP supported Angioplasties with/without glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors, 2D Echo color Doppler, pediatric and fetal echocardiography, cardiac diagnostics, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
