Dr. K.K. Talwar is a prominent medical specialist in the field of cardiology. With over 4 decades of practice, he has developed expertise in the field of cardiology. His discoveries on the incidence of inflammatory myocarditis in Takayasu's arteritis patients have been reported, marking the first time the topic has been published in medical literature. He used the approach in the evaluation and diagnosis of tropical cardiac muscle illnesses. Dr. K. K. Talwar also suggested a treatment plan that would use immunosuppressants to reverse cardiac dysfunction. Three years later, in 1995, he presented implantable cardioverter-defibrillator implantation, the first treatment of its kind in South Asia. He had initially built a radiofrequency ablation facility at AIIMS in 1992 as a therapeutic procedure for remedying cardiac arrhythmia.
