National Heart Institute, New Delhi

Dr. S. Padmavati, a renowned Cardiologist in India, established the National Heart Institute in 1981. This institute, located in New Delhi, holds the distinction of being the first heart institute in India. Its inauguration was graced by the late Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, and it has since gained accreditation from NABH and NABL.

The National Heart Institute offers a wide range of medical services, including Open Heart Surgeries, Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Angiography, Angioplasties, and more. Since 1983, it has been recognized as a Collaborative Centre of WHO in Preventive Cardiology. Notably, the institute has partnered with 150 Public sector bodies, nearly all TPAs, and esteemed international organizations such as the World Health Organisation and UNICEF. Moreover, it holds recognition from the National Board for post-doctoral training in cardiology and cardiovascular & thoracic surgery. Additionally, it proudly affiliates with the World Hypertension League and Heart Beat International.
