Brief About Dr. Madhav Rao
Dr. Madhav Rao is an ophthalmologist and vitreo-retinal surgeon in Abu Dhabi with more than 15 years of experience. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Kuvempu University in Karnataka, India, and his master’s degree in ophthalmology from Saurashtra University in Gujarat, India. He went on to complete a Diplomate in National Board Examination later on (DNB, Ophthalmology). Dr. Rao also completed a two-year fellowship at the prestigious Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya in Chennai, India, in medical and surgical diseases of the vitreous and retina. He has also won several accolades, including the International Ophthalmologist Education Award in 2010 and the International Ophthalmology Scholar Award in 2011.
He has national and international articles in certified indexed journals to his name. The ophthalmologist is frequently invited to speak about Retina problems and their treatment at scientific sessions, meetings, CDEs, and international conferences.
Member of Associations
National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS), India, and has worked earlier in Sankara Nethralaya, India, Dhahran Eye Specialist Hospital, Ministry of health, Dhahran, which is the only tertiary referral eye hospital in the Eastern province of KSA.
