Brief About Dr. Mahesh Rajashekaraiah
Dr. Mahesh Rajashekaraiah is a highly experienced Hematologist based in Bangalore, India. With a remarkable career spanning over 14 years, he is currently the Head of Department at Sparsh Hospital in Yeshwanthpur, Bangalore.
Dr. Rajashekaraiah holds professional memberships with the Karnataka Medical Council and the Royal College of Physicians (UK). He obtained his MBBS degree from J S S Medical College, Mysore in 2002, followed by an MD in General Medicine from Jagadguru Jayadeva Murugarajendra Medical College (JJMMC) in 2006. In 2011, he further specialized in Clinical Haematology by completing a DM program at King Edward Memorial Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College.
Dr. Rajashekaraiah also pursued a one-year fellowship in Leukemia and Bone marrow transplant at Vancouver General Hospital/BCCA in Vancouver, Canada. His areas of expertise include the management of leukemias and lymphoma, stem cell transplant (autologous, allogenic & umbilical cord blood transplant), evaluation and management of bleeding disorders, blood clots, and anemia.
Dr. Rajashekaraiah is not only dedicated to his clinical practice but also actively contributes to academia. He has served as an assistant professor in the department of internal medicine at Siddartha Medical College, Tumkur, and other esteemed institutions. His contributions to the field have been recognized through numerous state and national awards, and he has been invited to speak at various gatherings on hematological disorders and cancer.
Dr. Rajashekaraiah’s special interests lie in autologous transplant for multiple myeloma, hemoglobinopathies including bone marrow transplant for thalassemias and sickle cell disease, bone marrow failure syndrome, management of clots and bleeding problems, and immunodeficiency workup.
