Brief About Dr. Shobha Badiger
Dr. Shobha Badiger is a highly experienced pediatric hematologist and haemato oncologist based in Bangalore, India. With over 18 years of practice, she has gained extensive expertise in her field.
Dr. Badiger has successfully conducted more than 1400 transplants, including autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplants (BMT), in collaboration with her team. Her specialization lies in performing matched, matched unrelated, cord, and haplo-transplantation in pediatrics, as well as treating thalassemia, aplastic anemia, HLH, and immuno-deficiency disorders. She is an esteemed member of various professional organizations such as PHOCON India, ISHBT, EBMT, and IAP.
Dr. Badiger has been recognized for her outstanding contributions, having received the Best Paper Presentation on Pediatric Tuberculosis at the Gokak IAP conference in 2003, as well as the Best Young ICON Case Presentation at the 24th ICON meeting. Her educational background includes an MBBS degree from Karnataka Medical College, Karnataka, MD in Pediatrics from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, DNB in Pediatrics from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, and a fellowship in Hemato-Oncology from Narayana Hrudayalayau Rajiv Gandhi University, Bangalore.
Additionally, she has completed training in Evidence-Based Medicine from St John’s Research Institute and the 3T IBHSC Course in Bioethics Health Science Education for Post Graduate DNB/FNB Faculty. Dr. Badiger’s special interests lie in matched, cord, and haplo-transplantation in pediatrics, as well as the treatment of aplastic anemia, HLH, and immuno-deficiency disorders.
