Brief About Dr. P. Jagannath
Dr. P. Jagannath, a Surgical Oncologist based in Mumbai, India, boasts over three decades of experience in the field. He is currently serving as a Consultant at S. L. Raheja Hospital in Mumbai. Dr. Jagannath specializes in Gastrointestinal Oncology, Liver surgery, and other related services. He is known for introducing advanced sphincter preservation techniques and staplers for the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies.
Dr. Jagannath obtained his MBBS degree from Kurnool Medical College, SV University, India in 1978, where he received 10 medals during his academic tenure. Following this, he completed a residency in general surgery at JIPMER and obtained an MS in general surgery from the University of Madras in India in 1982.
Dr. Jagannath was the first oncologist in India to focus on liver cancer treatment using resection and non-resectional therapies, such as RF ablation, as well as gallbladder cancer treatment through epidemiology, multimodal therapy, and surgery. He has a vast collection of 13 video tapes and CDs showcasing his surgical skills, along with 75 academic publications.
Dr. P. Jagannath is a Fellow of prestigious organizations such as the American College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Indian Chapter of the International College of Surgeons, and the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India). He is fluent in English and has a special interest in sphincter conserving rectal surgery using STAPLERS, hepatic resections, pancreatic resections, and various other areas of oncology research.
