Dr. Puneet Agarwal has 22 years of expertise as a Neurologist. In North India as well as at Max Hospital, he was the first to use Sonothrombolysis to patients suffering from severe stroke. He is one of India’s first doctors to study Inflammatory Genes in Stroke Patients and IV Valproate in Status Epilepticus. Meanwhile, he enjoys teaching and has been appointed as a thesis guide to PhD students at IIT Delhi working on Brain Wave Signal Processing in a variety of brain illnesses. He also serves as a mentor for DM (Neurology) and MD (Medicine) students working on their theses and research projects. He has published multiple papers in peer-reviewed and well-known indexed journals, including Cochrane, Lancet, Seizure Brain Research, and Epilepsia. The study “Largest series of Thrombolyzed Cases of Stroke in India” garnered high praise at the European Stroke Conference. Furthermore, he received his MBBS from King George College in Lucknow before going on to complete his DM in Neurology at G. B. Pant Hospital, where he came in first place.
Later, he completed a Fellowship in Critical Care Neurology and Stroke at UCLA in Los Angeles, California, and Santara Hospital in Virginia, both in the United States. Dr. Agarwal also completed a training fellowship at National University Hospital in Singapore in sonothrombolysis, TCD, Cartoid Doppler, and Sleep Study. Other Training Fellowships in DBS, Parkinson’s disease, and Botulinum Toxin Injection were then offered in Spain and Amsterdam.
