Brief About Dr. Ramesh Arora
Dr. Ramesh Arora is a highly experienced Interventional Cardiologist based in New Delhi, India. With over 43 years of practice, she has established herself as a leading expert in the field. Dr. Arora’s areas of expertise include Coronary and non-coronary interventions, Paediatric Cardiology, Non-Surgical Closure of Intra‐cardiac Defects, and Echocardiography.
She is renowned for pioneering balloon valvuloplasty in 1985 and has performed a record-breaking number of procedures, including PTMC, with over 6000 by 2003. Her groundbreaking work has been published in international journals. Additionally, Dr. Arora introduced the non-surgical closure of intracardiac defects in 1987 and has successfully utilized various devices to perform the highest number of such procedures.
Dr. Arora obtained her MBBS from the University of Delhi in 1965, followed by an MD (Medicine) from Delhi University in 1969, and a DM (Cardiology) from Delhi University in 1973. She is a distinguished Fellow of the Indian College of Cardiology (1995), the American College of Cardiology (1998), and the Cardiology Society of India. She is also a member of the Interventional Science Academy and the American Society of Echocardiography. In recognition of her exceptional contributions to the field, Dr. Arora was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Delhi Cardiological Society of India in 2014. Her special interests include Angioplasty – PTCA, Coronary Angiogram, and CT Coronary Angiography.
