Dr. Sandeep Kumar Upadhyaya is currently a Senior Consultant in the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals’ Department of Rheumatology in New Delhi. He completed his MBBS from the University Of Allahabad in 1992, MD – Medicine from the University Of Allahabad in 1995, and DM – Clinical Immunology from Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow in 1998.
Furthermore, he was also a key figure in the development of novel chemicals and biological therapies for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, and SLE (lupus). Meanwhile, he is part of the committee that created the IRA Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment Guidelines.
