Brief About Dr. Sanket Mehta
Dr. Sanket Mehta is a highly experienced surgical oncologist based in Mumbai, India. With over 13 years of expertise in the field, he specializes in various areas including HIPEC, robotic surgery for cancer, GI and Gynacaelogic malignancies, recurrent cancers, and treatment of RetroPeritoneal sarcomas. Dr. Mehta is renowned for being the first surgeon in India to perform Cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC using the advanced HIPEC system. He currently serves as the chief of the Peritoneal Surface Oncology unit, which was the first of its kind to be established in the country.
Dr. Mehta’s extensive training includes fellowships in GI oncology and Cytoreductive surgery from CRLC Val d’Aurelle, France, Minimal Access and Gastro-intestinal surgery from L’Hopital Saint Eloi, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire, Montpellier, and Laparoscopic and Robotic colorectal surgery from St. Mary’s Hospital, The Catholic University of Korea, Seoul, South Korea. He is an active member of the Asian Peritoneal Surface Malignancy Group (APSMG) and currently holds the position of president in the Society of Peritoneal Surface Oncology, India (SPSO).
In recognition of his achievements, Dr. Mehta was awarded the prestigious Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship in 2009-2010. He has also participated in various international symposiums, including the International symposium on Laparoscopic colorectal surgery in 2009 at Deagu, South Korea.
Dr. Mehta’s special interests lie in robotic surgery for cancer, GI and gynacaelogic malignancies, recurrent cancers, and the treatment of retroperitoneal sarcomas.
