- Dr. Asthana is proficient in liver, kidney, pancreas, and clinical islet cell transplantation, as well as the surgical management of complex diseases affecting the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and biliary tract, including cancers and small bowel transplants.
- He completed his MBBS and MS at JIPMER, Pondicherry, and then proceeded to do an MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK.
- Later, he also did an MSc from the University of Alberta, Canada, and a prestigious ASTS-accredited Fellowship in Multi-Organ Transplantation from Edmonton, Canada.
