Dr. K. Pavithran currently serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. He earned his MD in Internal Medicine from Calicut Medical College and his DM in Medical Oncology from Bangalore’s Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology.

He received his hematology training at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, UK, and his bone-marrow transplantation experience at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre in Seattle, USA.
