Dr. Sumit Mrig served as senior consultant and HOD ENT and also Cochlear Implant Surgery from June 2010 until April 2016. He is one of India’s and Asia’s youngest Cochlear Implant Surgeons. Dr. Mrig has successfully performed over 360 cochlear implants in children and also adults. He implanted patients from eight different nations.

Furthermore, he is the first Indian surgeon to start an African self-contained cochlear implant programme. Many institutes in India have developed over 15 Cochlear Implant Programs as a result of his mentoring. In 2011, his team performed India’s first Binaural Cochlear Implant Surgery.
