Brief About Prof. Dr. A.M.V.R. Narendra
Dr. A.M.V.R. Narendra, a distinguished Hemato-oncologist from Hyderabad, India, is a renowned specialist in stem cell transplantation with 28 years of experience. He performed the first syngeneic stem cell transplantation in Andhra Pradesh in 2008, followed by successfully establishing Allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
Dr. A.M.V.R. Narendra’s pioneering work includes transplantation for various blood disorders such as congenital and acquired bone marrow failure, thalassemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, and acute leukemia. In 2002, he developed the Anti-thymocyte globulin therapy for aplastic anemia patients, which continues to be successful. Additionally, he introduced Arsenic Trioxide therapy for acute promyelocytic leukemia and the treatment of haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytic syndrome.
Dr. A.M.V.R. Narendra received the first prize in the free paper presentation session at the fourth Annual Conference of the AP State Chapter of the Indian Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in 2012. He has participated in workshops and conferences, including the ‘workshop on stem cells’ organized by CCMB in 2018 and the international conference on stem cell and regenerative medicine in March 2012.
Dr. A.M.V.R. Narendra holds a MBBS from the University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada (1993), MD (Internal Medicine) from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad (1998), and DM (Clinical Hematology) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi (2007). His special interests include Allogeneic stem cell transplantation, hematological disorders, bone marrow transplants, Arsenic Trioxide therapy, and Anti-thymocyte globulin therapy.
