Founded on August 1, 1992, the institute is committed to providing exceptional healthcare services in cardiovascular and thoracic medicine for both adult and pediatric cardiac patients. Commonly referred to as IJN, this institute has successfully treated more than four million cardiac patients since its establishment.
Presently, the hospital holds accreditation from JCI (Joint Commission International) and offers a comprehensive range of cardiac services, making it one of the foremost Cardiovascular and Thoracic Health Centers in the entire region. With state-of-the-art infrastructure and cutting-edge technology, they are fully equipped to handle even the most complex cases. Collaborations with renowned international medical institutes like the UK’s Papworth Hospital and Germany’s Herz-und have enabled IJN to introduce modern clinical techniques. Notably, IJN achieved several significant milestones in Malaysia’s medical history, including the country’s first renal angioplasty, automatic ICD, and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair.
Additionally, IJN was the pioneer in introducing drug-eluting stents in 2002. The institute performed Malaysia’s first heart transplant in 1997 and accomplished its first heart and lung transplant in 2007.
