Dr. Ramakanta Panda serves as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery. He is India’s first physician to pioneer the concept of Total Arterial Revascularization. He specializes in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting employing exclusively arterial grafts, as well as beating heart surgery.
Dr. Panda has conducted over 20,200 cardiac procedures, including over 1,080 redo bypass surgeries and over 3,020 high-risk procedures. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian accolade. He has done a number of high-profile heart procedures on members of the Indian government, including the then-Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, in recent years.
